The evaluation of the antioxidant diformyl urea handling abiotic stress (drought conditions)
in growing Maracuyá (Passiflora edulis) was held in nursery phase. The variables measured
were the number of true leaves (deployed), stem diameter, fresh weight and dry weight of
roots and aerial parts and determination of proline.
The experiment was carried out in the Montelindo farm Caldas University, located 38
kilometers from Manizales, in the village Santágueda, municipality of Palestine, at an altitude
of 1,010 meters, an average temperature of 22.8 degrees Celsius, an average rainfall annual
of 2200 mm, and a relative humidity of 76%. The experimental design wasdivided into plots
with an arrangement randomized complete blocks (RCB); with the main plot humidity levels
for the substrate soil in each bag nursery (optimum condition of field capacity, Wilting Point
Permanent - initial PMP and an intermediate condition between the above two) and within
each of them five treatments with 4 replications. The statistical model for data analysis is
given by the expression, the experimental unit (EU) was 3 floors. The method of data analysis
was ANOVA for differences among the treatments comparative test was applied
10
Duncan𝑌𝑖 = µ + 𝑃 + 𝑇 + 𝐵 + 𝐸, with a confidence level of 95% and an error rate of
5%. In developing the research sought to establish the best dose response in the antioxidant
to be evaluated.
Each repetition of the four raised by treatment consisted of 10 floors. The distribution of each
repetition were randomized, the experimental unit (3 plants) per treatment, was taken from
the middle of 10 plants to minimize the interaction of plants with other treatments.all
protocols and care as fertilization and irrigation scheduled in order to preserve the good
condition of the plants, so far to establish moisture variations in the substrates of each of the
bags of plants of fruit in the nursery were followed (three pairs of true leaves fully extended
and root development in the substrate of at least 60%).
It is evident that the moisture level called field capacity with the variable number of sheets
(NH) showed the best performance with values ranging from 1.53 to 7.68 and stem diameter
(DT) with maximum values of 6.57 and 4.35 minimum.
Intermediate moisture level also showed good behavior with values of 5.17 to 8.92 for the
variable number of leaves (NL) and between 4.08 and 6.53 to stem diameter (DT). As for the
fresh and dry root weight and aerial part indicated that no significant differences in moisture
levels, treatment sources, and the interaction treatment moisture levels. For proline
concentration, positive increases for all interactions moisture levels were presented by
treatment especially in the humidity initial point of wilting (PMPini) diformyl treatment with
ureal 1.5 cc / l (DU1,5cc) with a value of 8.2 uM.
