- In this article the implementation of restorative policies for thepolitical persecutions carried out during the  Brazilian military government (1964-1985) is analyzed. Based on an ethnography carried out at the “Amnesty  Commission”, a division of the Ministry of Justice in Brazil that is responsible for the analysis of the reparation demands based on Law 10559 of 2001, it is intended to understand how its members, who are responsible for issuing decisions, related with the work they carry out, understand their activity, as well as to identify which  are the assets and previous careers that make them deserve their positions. Through participant observation  of the opinion sessions of economic and political amnesty reparatory demands and through semi-irected  interviews to this body, a set of important characteristics for their inclusion in the “Amnesty Commission”  were identified. On one hand, their significant academic careers with high levels of instruction which gives  them a command of specialized legal knowledge, and on the other hand the participation in social  movements and/or free legal assistance belonging to universities which confers them a militant perspective.  Similarly, an important age profile which separates them from the dictatorship victims emerges. From the  notion of ‘militancy itineraries’, the circulation of such agents amongst the academic environments, the State sphere and the social movements are analyzed as discursive strategies built in order to face the tensions and  conflicts resulting from their work and from their mobility through the diverse fields of action. A narrative  construction of signification and legitimacy arises, founded on the concepts of ‘political ancestry’ and  ‘adherence to the cause’.
