dc.description.abstractspa:La reparación endovascular de aneurisma de aorta abdominal, (EVAR) “endovascular repair” se ha implementado como un procedimiento menos invasivo; dentro de sus posibles complicaciones se ha descrito una entidad poco frecuente denominada síndrome postimplantación, de la cual aún quedan muchos interrogantes por resolver. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional, retrospectivo para describir el síndrome postimplantación en pacientes llevados a reparación endovascular de aneurisma de aorta abdominal en dos instituciones de la ciudad de Manizales (Caldas, Colombia), en el período 2015 al 2021. Resultados: Entre el año 2015 al 2021, 50 pacientes fueron llevados a EVAR. Luego del procedimiento se observó una elevación de la temperatura corporal en un promedio de 0,3°C; además de un ascenso del recuento leucocitario y de los polimorfonucleares neutrófilos a las 24 horas. El 49 % de individuos presentó leucocitosis (mayor a 12 000/uL). El 6 % (3/50) desarrolló síndrome postimplantación, de los cuales 2 fueron hombres; su edad promedio fue de 68,6 años (DE=4). La fiebre se documentó al segundo, tercer y cuarto día, con un promedio de duración de 4,3 días. Al segundo día se registró leucocitosis y neutrofilia. El valor promedio de la proteína C reactiva fue de 50,7 mg/l. Ninguno presentó alguna complicación; el promedio de estancia hospitalaria fue de 8,3 ± 6,6 días y sólo uno recibió tratamiento. Conclusiones: Después de EVAR, se observa un incremento de la respuesta inflamatoria sistémica en un número significativo de individuos. Se describe por primera vez en nuestra región una entidad poco reportada como lo es el síndrome postimplantación.spa
dc.description.abstracteng:Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of an abdominal aortic aneurysm has been implemented as a less invasive procedure. Postimplantation syndrome has been described as a rare complication, of which many questions remain to be resolved. Methods: An observational and retrospective study was conducted with aim of describe postimplantation syndrome in patients undergoing EVAR in two centers of Manizales city (Caldas, Colombia), in the period 2015 to 2021. Results: During 2015 to 2021, 50 patients were taken to EVAR. After the procedure, an increase in body temperature was observed by an average of 0.3 ° C; in addition to a rise in the leukocyte count and neutrophils at 24 hours. 49% of individuals presented leukocytosis (greater than 12,000 / uL). 6% (3/50) developed postimplantation syndrome, of which 2 were men; their mean age was 68.6 years (SD = 4). Fever was documented on the second, third, and fourth days, with an average duration of 4.3 days. On the second day, leukocytosis and neutrophilia were registered. The mean value of C-reactive protein was 50.7 mg / l. None presented any complications; the mean hospital stay was 8.3 ± 6.6 days and only one received treatment. Conclusions: After EVAR, an increase in the systemic inflammatory response is observed in a significant number of patients. An underreported entity, such as postimplantation syndrome, is described for the first time in our region.eng
