necesidad de realizar el mismo trabajo con los demás órdenes depositados en la colección CEBUC. eng: Biological collections are depositories of biodiversity, and their purpose is to preserve specimens under appropriate standards so that their collection lasts over time. The Entomological Collection of the Biology Program of the University of Caldas (CEBUC) was formally registered in the National Registry of Collections in 2011 and is currently one of the main entomological collections in the central
region of the country. The purpose of this work was to contribute to the knowledge and process of organization and systematization of the Hemiptera orders of the CEBUC collection. In addition, this work also had the purpose of identifying the regions of Colombia that are better represented in CEBUC and/or have information gaps. A total of 2272
specimens were reviewed and systematized. As a result, 42 families of the Hemiptera orders were found, distributed in 55 genera and 16 species. The most representative families of the collection are: Veliidae, Naucoridae, Reduviidae, Pentatomidae, Membracidae and Coreidae.
The records of Hemiptera housed in CEBUC cover 19 departments of Colombia, with Caldas being the best represented with a total of 1690, followed by Valle del Cauca with 160 records.
This contribution is the basis for future systematic, ecological and conservation research, and demonstrates the need to work with other orders deposited in the CEBUC collection.
