| spa |
dc.description.abstract | eng: Objective: to describe the sexual function of infertile couples with gestational desire region of Colombia from January to August 2020. Design: descriptive cross-sectional study. Setting: InSer Fertility Institute in Pereira. Patient(s): two hundred and ninety-one infertile couples with gestational desire who attended the InSer Institute. Intervention(s): patients were investigated with the help of the IFSF, IIEF, and MGH-SFQ scales in order to identify the presence of sexual disorders. Main Outcome Measurement(s): the study evaluated the presence of infertility in men and women. It also scaled some demographic features and some sexual variables like sexual satisfaction, sexual excitement, and capacity to reach orgasms. Result(s): the study found out that the most frequent type of infertility is primary infertility since 55 % of women (n=29) and 63 % (n=24) of men had infertility problems according to the MGH-SFQ, IIEF and IFSF scales (p=0.37 in both). At the same time, the study could find out that only 9 % of women (n=5) and 8 % of men (n=3) were assessed by clinical sexology. Besides, the study found out that sexual disfunction in women were correlated with educational level (p=0.016) and sexual education (p=0.006), while sexual disfunctions in men were correlated with anxiety (p=0.02), depression (p=0.04), and infertility treatment (p=0.04). Conclusions: sexual assessment should be established as part of the infertility treatment among couples. Men reported fewer sexual disfunctions and tend to have more satisfaction with sexual activity compared to women. Further research must be done to offer more details and explanations about this topic in Colombia. | eng |
