corresponden a liptodetrinita (6,96% ), resinita Oil (4,25%) , esporinita ( 2,06%), cutinita (1,33),
Outcropping on the flank
western Cordillera Central, in the southwest of Antioquia, has had important
economic since one of its three constituent parts, the so-called Sabaletas Member,
it has exploitable coals. In order to establish the conditions of formation of the
look at what originated from the "main mantle" of the Acevedo mine (Located in Angelópolis,)
carried out the study of 8 polished sections of coals from a sub-horizontal drilling of
54 meters. The identification of the macerals was made by means of photomicrographs in
reflected light microscopes using white and fluorescent light at different intensities.
Subsequently, petrographic indices were determined, such as the Gelling Index (GI),
Tissue Preservation Index (TPI), Groundwater Index (GWI) and
Vegetation (VI), in the same way some ternary diagrams were used with the objective of
establish the physicochemical conditions and the type of look.
The most common maceral group is the vitrinitas, dominated on average by
Collodetrinite (52.95%) and Collothelinite (7.22%); follow in abundance, the liptinites that
correspond to liptodetrinite (6.96%), Oil resinite (4.25%), sporinite (2.06%), cutinite (1.33),
alginite (0.78%), exsudatinite (0.41%) and suberinite (0.25%), inertinites present in low
proportion, inrtodetrinite predominates (5.87%) over funginite (0.7%). Mineral matter
the most important corresponds to clays, reaching up to 2%.
The mire originated from herbaceous plant matter such as grasses, reeds, reeds and in lesser
proportion, of fragments of arboreal vegetation; conditions were predominantly
ombrotrophic, the accumulation medium is slightly oxic-anoxic and
intermittent flooding of the peat bog.
