To design a rapid application instrument that allows a general screening of cognition in patients with schizophrenia, major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, to be applied by health professionals. Materials and methods: creation study, carried out in the last semester of 2020 and first of 2021 in the City of Manizales - Colombia. Three phases were identified, which in turn span nine steps. These phases were then applied and a prototype scale was obtained, with which a pilot test was carried out on a total of 30 participants, who answered two scales, at two different moments; the first composed of existing and validated test subtests and, in the second, cognitive domains similar to those studied were evaluated, but this time through subtests established in the test created in this study. Results: it was found that the control group obtained a superior performance in the subscales of both tests. Conclusions: these findings confirm that the BIOPSIQUE scale has subtests of novel, relevant design, easy to apply and that in this first phase it demonstrated similar performances to already established tests, so it is the first step in the design of a scale that It promises to be a diagnostic support tool in patients with mental disorders. For the following phases, the sample will be expanded, it will seek to determine the correlations between its elements, as well as the score and establish the duration of the application, and if necessary, compare it again with other cognitive subtests.
