dc.description.abstract | spa:Las fitotelmata son plantas que tiene capacidad de almacenar agua por medio de hojas modificadas; hábitat para varios grupos taxonómicos entre ellos los ácaros. Los estudios de los ácaros que habitan fitotelmata se han centrado principalmente en reportar la presencia de estos arácnidos, sin embargo, algunos estudios en bromelias y plantas jarro han descrito nuevas especies como Bromeliacarus cardoso y Micruracaropsis phytotelmaticola. En las fitotelmata creada en los peciolos de las aráceas no se han realizado reportes de la acarafauna, por tal motivo el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar la composición de la acarofauna asociada a peciolos de dos especies de aráceas (Xanthosoma daguense y Xanthosoma sagittifolium). Los ácaros fueron recolectados del interior de los peciolos de 40 individuos X. daguense y 80 individuos de X. sagittifolium en la hacienda Lisbrán (Risaralda) y la hacienda Montelindo (Caldas); los ácaros colectados fueron montados y determinados hasta el nivel taxonómico de género y/o especie. La acarofuauna determinada taxonómicamente pertenece a Mesostigmata (Blattisocidae, Eviphididae, Macrochelidae, Uropodidae), Astigmata (Acaridae, Histiostomatidae,), y Oribatida (Galumnidae, Malaconothridae, Oriibatullidae, Oribotritiidae, Phthiracaridae). Los géneros Histiostoma sp. y Hormosianoetus sp. pertenecientes a la familia Histiostomatidae presentaron la mayor abundancia. La acarofauna asociada a estas fitotelmata fueron predadores (Macrochelidae, Blattisocidae, Eviphididae Uropodidae) y saprófagos (Galumnidae, Oribatulidae, Phthiracaridae, Oribotritiidae, Galumnidae, Oriibatullidae, Malaconothridae); finalmente se este estudio reporta por primera vez para fitotelmata las especies Cheiroseius mesae y Blattisocius dentriticus. Los resultados de este estudio contribuyen a comprender el papel de las fitotelmata en la conservación de la diversidad de este grupo taxonómico, así como a profundizar en la taxonomía de ácaros asociados a fitotelmata y del papel ecológico mediante sus asociaciones. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | eng:Phytotelmata are plants that have the capacity to store water by means of modified leaves; habitat for several taxonomic groups including mites. Studies of mites inhabiting phytotelmata have mainly focused on reporting the presence of these arachnids, however, some studies on bromeliads and pitcher plants have described new species such as Bromeliacarus cardoso and Micruracaropsis phytotelmaticola. In the phytotelmata created on the petioles of Araceae, there have been no reports of acarofauna, for this reason the present work aims to determine the composition of the acarofauna associated with petioles of two species of Araceae (Xanthosoma daguense and Xanthosoma sagittifolium). Mites were collected from inside the petioles of 40 individuals of X. daguense and 80 individuals of X. sagittifolium at the Lisbrán farm (Risaralda) and Montelindo farm (Caldas); the collected mites were mounted and determined to the taxonomic level of genus and/or species. The taxonomically determined acarofuauna belong to Mesostigmata (Blattisocidae, Eviphididae, Macrochelidae, Uropodidae), Astigmata (Acaridae, Histiostomatidae,), and Oribatidae (Galumnidae, Malaconothridae, Oriibatullidae, Oribotritiidae, Phthiracaridae). The genera Histiostoma sp. and Hormosianoetus sp. belonging to the family Histiostomatidae presented the highest abundance. The acarofauna associated with these phytotelmata were predators (Macrochelidae, Blattisocidae, Eviphididae Uropodidae) and saprophagous (Galumnidae, Oribatulidae, Phthiracaridae, Oribotritiidae, Galumnidae, Oriibatullidae, Malaconothridae); finally, this study reports for the first time for phytotelmata the species Cheiroseius mesae and Blattisocius dentriticus.
